Santa Rosa, California (1994)
Santa Rosa Life Care community, a 25-bed skilled nursing facility (SNF), and a 454-unit, aging-in-place residential development located in the wine country north of San Francisco offer views to the east and west. Situated adjacent to the town center, the health maintenance facility fills a variety of missions, including an outpatient clinic, assisted living accommodations, and inpatient medical facilities.
The site is dominated by large clusters of old broad oaks, its steep west slope facing a state forest. A tree-lined road winds through the site, connecting three distinct residential neighborhoods and a town center with entertainment, educational, recreational, and health facilities and sheltered privacy while advancing a sense of community. At least one YSA principal participated as design architect, supervising architect, and/or senior designer while associated with the architect-of-record for this project.
