San Francisco, CA (1992)

A registered historic landmark building, this 19th century private home is rehabilitation and adaptive reuse for use as a residence for HIV patients. The project includes carriage house rehabilitation into additional guest rooms and common facilities.

This project provides comfortable living accommodations for 12 persons with spacious common living areas.  The building was rehabilitated under the San Francisco Architectural Historic Preservation Guidelines and served as a model for the adaptive re-use of historic buildings in the Mission District into appropriate dwellings for those HIV+. At least one YSA principal participated as design architect,  supervising architect and/or designer while associated with the architect-of-record for this project.
