Sacramento, California (1993)
Located at the Carlisle Hotel in downtown Palo Alto this dining room evokes the ambiance of a classic European Hotel restaurant.
Clad columns combined with deep wood molding are set within a field of wide pine board flooring. Tall arched Palladian windows line the wall facing University Avenue opposite a richly painted wood panel wall dividing the main dining room from the bar and private dining rooms.
Tall ceilings are paneled to respond to the square columns and arched windows. Table arraignment is defined by glazed dwarf walls and banquet seating. The bar is embellished with a deep red mural depicting an iconic cafe scene. At least one YSA principal participated as design architect, supervising architect and/or senior designer while associated with the architect-of-record for this project.
